“This is a great position for me because I get so much experience. I get to work on the clinical side and the surgical side. If I was working in a hospital, I would only have one area of focus. I enjoy seeing all those different areas especially as a new nurse,” said Kerri Adkins, RN.
Kerri has worked for Dr. Popp for four years. She spent her first three working in the front office as a medical secretary while she was in nursing school.
It turns out a nurse position opened up in the office just as Kerrie finished nursing school so she took the job.
Kerri assists Dr. Popp with smaller procedures in the surgical suite on Monday and Tuesday. These are the procedures that require only one nurse, including Botox injections and eye-related cases, such as droopy eyelids.
On Thursdays, Kerri joins Amanda in assisting with those surgeries that require two nurses. These include things like breast augmentation and facelifts.
Kerri said Amanda scrubs in for these larger procedures and Kerri circulates.
“We want our patients to be happy and being truthful is an important part of that. We are friendly and work hard to show them we care and want to help them,” Kerri explained.
She loves the staff she works with and says they all work well together. And Kerri said the patients like the staff too and the fact that they are willing to do what it takes to ensure the patients are satisfied with their procedures.
“Dr. Popp is good at what he does. If he doesn’t feel comfortable doing something, he will make a good recommendation,” said Kerri.
