For Pam L., it’s all about her eyes

Pam has had several procedures done by Dr. Jeff Popp. But of all of them, she said the eyes have it.

She said surgery on her upper and lower eyelids made her feel better about how she looks.

“I didn’t expect to look like I was 20 again. I just wanted to look like I was refreshed and had enough rest,” Pam said, “and now I do. I am 65 and told continually that I don’t look it.”

In addition to eyelid surgery, she also had an ablative CO2 laser treatment, a major procedure, done on her face in June of 2014.

Pam said the treatment was something she worked up to. She said she’d had Botox, fillers and other facial laser treatments with Dr. Popp before she took that big step.

Why Dr. Popp?

Pam said he’s personable and has a great bedside manner. He explains everything so you can understand it.

“He doesn’t use big medical terms or anything. And he never hurries you,” she said. “Dr. Popp treats you like you’re the only person in the office. I definitely felt like I was his one and only focus while I was there.”

His honesty was another positive.

She said she knew exactly how she would look immediately after the laser procedure. This helped keep her calm throughout the process. Dr. Popp and his staff were “absolutely there” for her from beginning to end, Pam said.

She also knew exactly how much it would cost. Pam took advantage of the care credit (CareCredit.com) available through his office.

“The third day of that first laser treatment, I wondered just what I’d done. I was almost depressed,” Pam said. “Then you come out on the other side and realize everything they said was true. And if you follow their instructions, you will be okay.”

Trust is key

After multiple procedures with Dr. Popp, many of them more minor, Pam felt comfortable enough to go in for ablative laser treatment. She said Dr. Popp gave her his cell phone number so she could call him any time.

After the procedure was complete, the staff brought her in through the back door sometimes for her follow-up appointments so she didn’t have to display her still-healing face.

Pam said about 10 days after her procedure, she felt comfortable enough to put on makeup and go out. Her eyes healed more quickly than her face. But when she went out that first time, no one could tell she had any procedures done.

“I feel like I look younger and that I have taken good care of myself,” she said.
