There are no dumb questions, but there sure are strange ones. Here we have four odd queries and Dr. Jeff Popp’s responses.
- Can fillers migrate from one body part to another?
Fillers can shift a bit, but can’t go from, say, your cheek to your neck.
“They can spread within the tissues you put it in, but we’re talking millimeters, not inches,” Dr. Popp said. “I’ve never seen them spread beyond a few millimeters from where they were injected.”
- Can you graft skin from your bottom onto your face to look younger?
“The skin on your butt is more youthful and definitely less sun damaged than your face,” he said. “So you’d look younger where the skin was grafted to your face, but because the rest wouldn’t match, you would have a patchwork appearance.”
- Can Botox make your face crooked?
Botox absolutely can make your face uneven.
“For example, when we inject eyebrows, sometimes we find one brow is more active than the other, and we have to
put more Botox in,” he said. “If we don’t, your face could look uneven.”
- Can kissing a person feel different after you get a filler injected in your lips?
Once the filler has settled, it shouldn’t have any impact on the way a kiss would feel to the giver or the receiver, Dr. Popp said.
The exception would be if you had large duck lips. In that case, kissing would feel different.
“But 98 percent of lip augmentation with filler is just subtle enough it won’t impact either party,” he said.
