Skin Tumor Removal
A tumor on the skin is by definition an abnormal growth. These can be either benign or malignant. Thus both pimples and skin cancer are tumors. In many instances, the lesion is snipped off under local anesthesia so a diagnosis can be made (also known as a biopsy). If the tumor is benign, often times the biopsy is all that is needed. If, however, it is premalignant or malignant more surgery and reconstruction is needed to make certain the entire tumor has been removed. Moh’s surgery, in most instances of malignancy, will be employed.
